What type of pools does Poseidon Pools offer?

Poseidon Pools builds custom gunite pools and spas as well as complete outdoor living environments.

How much does it cost to build a swimming pool?

An average sized, basic pool (about 400 Sq. Ft. or to give a better idea 30′ x 13′ 6″ which is actually 405 Sq. Ft.) will start at the mid to high $30k range. If need be, we can build one smaller to fit your space, but please understand there are minimum charges so the price does not drop much by down sizing from here. We can even build beautiful and relaxing fully custom stand alone spas any shape or size. Options and factors that will determine the bottom line will be water features, automation, lighting, concrete amount and type, raised walls, steps, raised decks, pool interior finish, raised wall materials, adding a spa, tractor access and ground conditions. Poseidon Pools can design and build a custom pool and or spa to fit almost any yard and budget.

How long does it take to build a swimming pool?

For an average sized pool and spa which is about 400 Sq. Ft. for the pool and about 40 Sq. Ft. for the spa it takes about 5 to 6 weeks. However, there are many different variables involved such as weather, ground conditions, tractor access, complex features such as vanishing edges, stone work, landscaping and even masonry work outside the pool such as fireplaces or BBQ’s. If possible, we like to make sure the pool plaster is the last phase, that way we don’t get any construction debris in the pool water.

What is included in a “base” swimming pool package?

There is no real industry standard when it comes to the term “base pool package.” A base pool is what ever a particular builder decides. This is where you really have to pay attention because you are rarely comparing apples to apples when it comes to comparing one companies “base pool” to another. Also pay close attention to what is included with your “spa package”… number of jets, type of jets, jet configuration, type of heater and controls. Poseidon Pools does not have a base pool package. Every pool we build is fully customized for each customer and each setting. What most don’t realize is that if you were to build the same pool at two different residences, the cost would most likely be different because of different variables such as access, utility and pool equipment locations, ground conditions etc.

Does Poseidon Pools offer financing?

Yes. Poseidon Pools offers financing through Paramount Capital, the best swimming pool finance company available. You can check to see if you qualify without taking any points off your credit score.

When is the best time to build a swimming pool?

Although it is easier to build after the rains, we actually recommend getting started with the process in the winter time. The reason being is that the design process can sometimes take a few weeks and the permit process can take another few weeks or longer if HOA’s are involved. In the winter, we can build at a more relaxed pace than if we started in May or June because there’s no pressure that swim season is around the corner. Sometimes we can actually improve from the original design because we have time to step back and look at the big picture. Around spring time, we will be buttoning up your project with a low stress level while most people will just be getting started with the hopes of being able to swim by the 4th of July. Swimming pool construction should not be rushed. It should be done at a comfortable pace so everything is done correctly.

I have a pretty small back yard. Can I still have a pool built?

Yes. Pools do not have to be big to be enjoyable or beautiful. There are actually many benefits of having a smaller pool.  It will cost less to build, if you want it heated it will cost less, it will cost less to maintain. If you like swimming laps but don’t have the space for a lap pool, Poseidon Pools can add a swim jet so you can use your pool for exercise. If you like the natural lagoon look, small pools look amazing with a lot of natural stone and a waterfall and since the pool would be smaller, it would cost less to achieve this effect than on a larger pool.

Will a swimming pool add to the value of my home?

For the most part, a swimming pool can increase the value of your home by several thousand dollars. In our area, a pool is desirable by most home buyers but much like a paint color of the house, it has to appeal to a wide range. If you would like to have a pool built and think you will be moving in the future, Poseidon Pools can design a pool that will fit your needs and desires as well as appeal to a wide range of prospective buyers when it comes time to sell.

Some swimming pool companies advertise pools at super low prices. What’s the catch?

Think about a car dealership that advertises a car at a low price. That’s usually just the bait and switch. By the time you add up all the bells and whistles you want, that car’s price is not what you had in mind. You really have to find out what is included in that advertised price. Ask about equipment, size of pool, pool interior finish and how much will the price increase if you want to add square footage to the water surface area, add concrete or any other features you desire. At Poseidon Pools there is no bait and switch. We provide you with a detailed bid that leaves nothing to question and includes construction materials and equipment that will give you the best value for your money.

Why do swimming pools that seem to be the same size vary so much in price?

Let’s compare two same size and shape pools that have the same amount of concrete. Pool A has an analog pump time clock, single speed pump, tablet chlorine feeder, undersized filter, undersized plumbing, 500W light, white plaster, concrete coping and salt finish concrete decking with no steel reinforcement or no color. Pool B has an automated pool control system with wireless remote, variable speed energy-efficient Eco-friendly pump, salt chlorine generator, properly sized filter, properly sized plumbing, pebble interior finish,  LED low voltage color lights, natural stone coping and two color, stamped, steel reinforced concrete. Although both pools are exactly the same size and shape and have the same amount of concrete, Pool B will cost more because of the material and equipment selection that it has. So, it all depends on how the pool is constructed, equipment selection and material selection.

What features can I add to my swimming pool?

Features that can be added to a pool are virtually endless. How much will it cost to maintain my swimming pool?

Most pool owners will opt to have a professional pool service company care for their swimming pool which is a wise choice to keep your pool water healthy. Pool service companies usually have 3 levels of pool service depending on how much you are planning to do on your own. Prices range anywhere from about $50.00 to $100.00 per month. Poseidon Pools will provide you with a reputable pool service company to do the initial start-up and balancing of your new pool’s water for one month. You can continue to use them after this time, choose another company or maintain your pool yourself.
